Avoid The Awkward Moments & Have Fun

The time has come to step things up a bit. You and your most recent love interest want to see if you’re ready to take things to the next level and start an official relationship. This is a very important time in a budding relationship for both parties. Each of you are uncertain how this will turn out but are curious enough to give it a fair shot. Therefore, it’s time to test the relationship waters, so why not try going on a weekend getaway?

If this is your first time going on a romantic getaway, you might have some alarms setting off inside your mind right now, but that’s ok. It’s natural to be worried about the little things, such as the early awkward moments that consist of odd conversations or even boredom. However, it’s important that you give it a shot. Otherwise, you may never know whether or not your companion is that ‘special someone.’

The foremost step to going on your first getaway is finding a place to go and stay. Once you figure this out, the next step is a little trickier. You might be thinking, “Ok, so what do I do from here?” Now is the time to map out what your day to day plans will be during your getaway. You need to prepare for your trip so you can avoid those awkward moments. Sleeping and lounging are highly enjoyable during a vacation, but even they have a certain limit before they become overdone. For that reason, here are some fun things to do in most places with your companion.

Laugh at a Comedy Show

An easy way to break the ice during your first weekend getaway is taking your date to a comedy show. Most cities have at least one comedy club in or nearby them, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find one. This will be a relatively cheap date and should help break any nervous or odd tensions between the two of you. You won’t have to worry about what to talk about; just sit back and enjoy the show.

Before you pick a show to see, make sure you know what kind of humor your date is interested in. That way you’ll know what type of comedian or show to choose to see. You won’t want to offend your date by making him or her sit through an hour set, listening to an offensive comedian. After you pick a show that will be a good fit for both of your personalities, the rest will be easy. If you have nothing to talk about at first, the show will be a good way to help spark some conversations after the show. Oh yeah, and you’ll probably be smiling and laughing the whole time, which is always pleasant!

Dine At A Fun Restaurant

During your romantic getaway, you will most likely be going out for dinner at least once. Try finding a restaurant that’s entertaining or interactive. Interactive restaurants are places where the chefs and the staff interact with you in a non conventional way. This could include anything from the chef talking to you while he or she makes your food to the waiting staff allowing you to order your meal in a fun, creative way.  Not only will this be more amusing than a typical dinner date, but it will also help initiate more conversation as well as create a new bond between the both of you.

Dinner dates don’t have to be a quiet, candle lit experience all the time. You and your date will have more fun experiencing something new and different together compared doing the same old, typical steak house dinner. Here are some type of places that will make for a pleasurable dining experience:

  • Themed restaurants
  • Tech restaurants with touch screen tables & menus
  • Theater restaurants – dinner & a show
  • Hands on restaurants where you help make your own meal with the chef

These are just a few ideas of places that will be fun to dine in. No matter where you choose to go, make sure it’s a place that neither of you have been to before. That way you will share this new experience together.

Get Wild & Go Skydiving

This is a bit off the wall for an early date, however it will definitely be a great bonding experience if you’re both brave enough to endure jumping out of a plane at 3,000 to 12,000 feet above the ground!  For those of you who have never gone before, your first skydiving tip will be with a professional jumper. Most places make uncertified or first time jumpers make their first jump with a certified professional to ensure your safety.

This will be one of the biggest adrenaline rushes of your life and will be an experience you and your date can enjoy and remember for the rest of your lives. on this romantic getaway trip. Even though you both might be nervous at first, you’ll both have a smile on your faces by the time you finally land on the ground. Let it be known; skydiving has never been described as a boring experience!

For those of you who aren’t ready to have a free-falling experience, the zoo might be a better option for your getaway weekend date. The zoo is always a safe bet for a date.
